POSITION PROFILE
KnollStudio is a standalone specialty business within Knoll. Within KnollStudio there are three consumer selling channels
Corporate/Contract
: Customer orders which are sold through KnollStudio sales reps or Account Managers in our showrooms.
Retail Customers:
Sales facilitated through our Retail Dealer network.
Consumer Channels
: Product sold to our customers through our Ecommerce website or the Knoll Store, located in New York City and Los Angeles.
Virtually everything that we design, and sell is manufactured through outside vendors. The KnollStudio Buyer is a vital in leading supplier relationships and negotiations
The buyer position is responsible for supplier management including:
Quality and on time performance
Develop and track milestones
Look for continuous business improvement through value analysis, process improvements, cost reduction project and negotiations
Is a member of the new project development team; manage new product introductions through the supply chain
Coordinate specials
Research and develop new sources of supply
Planning and Scheduling Customer orders
Responsible for inventory levels and safety stocks
Prepare and monitor cost saving initiatives; manager small tools and capital expenditures; manage material requirements for project assignments
Facilitates Customer Service requests and problem resolution
Interfaces with other Knoll Divisions, Knoll Toronto, DatesWeiser, Logistics, etc. to ensure KnollStudio Vendors meet quality, cost and on time standards.
Review supplier performance with key partners monthly
Responsible for global strategic sourcing supplier performance
Travel required, some International travel
Required Skills
Excellent, demonstrable written and verbal communication skills
Multi-tasking skills for multiple, high priority projects
Quantitative analysis and business skills Working cross functionally with all levels of the organization
Negotiation with external vendors, suppliers, etc.
Sense of urgency and responsiveness
Required Experience
BS Degree or equivalent work experience required
5 to 7 years procurement experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
Candidate should be able to develop spreadsheets and reports
JD Edwards (JDE) and EBS knowledge
Experience with International suppliers a plus
