RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager, Security Operations is responsible for overseeing a hybrid SOC consisting of an internal, 8x5 Tier 1/2 SOC who monitor and support a geographically dispersed network and server infrastructure and an outsourced MDR/MMSP SOC. The candidate will lead the team in Tier 1/2 troubleshooting and problem solving using on-the-job experience, documentation (SOPs), knowledge bases, and deployed network and IT management tools. As the Lead, the candidate ensures Tier 1/2 Technicians are properly trained and remain proficient in techniques and systems as those evolve with time and technology. The Incident Manager will ensure SLA with the MDR and MSSP are maintained and be the key escalation point for unscripted events ensuring incident and problem management follow proper escalation procedures The candidate will create and execute a robust Quality Assurance Program to continually improve customer service, incident response close rate, and ticket and documentation quality.
Attend Weekly Op Meeting and provide key performance metrics and items of note from the previous week, as well as a summary of tickets that are classified as High priority
Contribute to the execution of Cyber Security operations, incident response, and investigations spanning across all functions of the Corporate Security organization
Rapidly and accurately determine the source of a security incident and moving quickly to identify and apply containment, mitigation, and remediation steps
Leverage the incident case management solution to document and report on incidents to meet audit compliance requirements
Conduct in-depth root cause analysis on complex malware and user/system behavior events
Design and implement threat and event analysis automation to improve the speed and accuracy of incident identification and mitigation
Develop and document enhanced event analysis and incident response processes and procedures
Provide technical leadership of a team
Develops solutions to technical problems and issues that are unclear and require deep technical knowledge

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required; 3 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a SOC role, with 1 year of experience in a leadership role preferred
Hands-on experience with technology tools and technologies that are commonly used to implement security features
Experience with tools and techniques used by attackers to breach system security
Experience leading teams
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form
Strong working knowledge of computer networks, servers, and operating systems
Comprehensive understanding of virtual desktop infrastructure
Comprehensive understanding of virtual hosting environments and on-premise cloud systems
Flexible and creative at getting deliverables accomplished in demanding environments
Experience in the creation of routine and ad hoc reports

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
