Job DescriptionPURPOSE AND SCOPE:The Sr Sales Operations Manager is responsible for assisting appropriate leadership team in execution of projects/tasks in the areas of sales and sales operations.  This position interfaces with members of the leadership team in some strategic planning efforts, as a key source of customer input, as well as other areas of the company.  PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages functional day-to-day operations of salesforce.com.  Serves as a point of contact for Sales and Marketing to provide maintenance, configuration, reporting, and training.Manages inbound lead routing and assignment to internal stakeholders.Updates salesforce reports and dashboards when necessary; provides monthly/quarterly reporting to senior management. Manages assigned projects and updates stakeholders on a weekly basis.Works closely with internal departmental managerial team and sales to perform appropriate client indication area research to support proposal development.Contacts clients as needed to discuss proposal timelines, questions, expectations, deliverables, etc.Facilitates and adds value to proposal strategy meetings to:Identify issues and client requirements.Recommend proposal and study conduct strategy, and internal resourcing, based on experience.Establishes agreement on timelines and deliverables from the proposal strategy meeting and follows up to ensure adherence.Writes and creates client specific proposal text to:Accurately reflect strategy discussions.Meet company and client needs / expectations.Assure accuracy and appropriateness of text and attachments.Drafts budgets to:Reflect both company and client needs, including first-run output.Assure accuracy, consistency and competitiveness of budgets.Facilitate pricing discussions with appropriately identified key decision makers.Provides quality client deliverable to strict deadlines:Participate in client calls related to Requests for Proposals, budget discussions, requests for information as needed.Participate in proposal defense meetings with clients.Work with senior management and participate in multi-disciplinary discussions assure high quality input.Provides guidance, advice and support, acting as a subject matter expert and resource.  Provides expertise regarding procedures and issues ensuring appropriate resolution.Mentors other staff as applicable.Reviews and complies with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.Ensures all employees within the assigned team(s) understand and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations; establishing and maintaining effective internal systems and controls to promote compliance.Provides leadership, coaching, training and development plans for all direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partnering with management team and Human Resources on employee matters.Monitors and evaluates assigned direct reports activities. Evaluates performance based on goals, standards and benchmarks set up in coordination with the management team.Maintains professional and technical knowledge.  Keeps up to date on industry trends and best practices. Establishes personal networks, benchmark state-of-the-art practices, and participates in professional societies.
