Head of Industrial Performance and Excellence - The global leader is responsible for leading a community of change agents to drive breakthrough results in business process performance across all functions in Cell Therapy Development and Operations, and especially in plant manufacturing and quality operations. This role enables right first time, manufacturing performance and innovative business process design and implementation, while delivering improved safety, quality and productivity in all areas of cell therapy within BMS.
Key Responsibilities
Works cooperatively with Manufacturing, Quality, GMSAT, Supply Chain, Development, Project teams and Safety to achieve a high-performance culture.
Creates an effective governance process and a road map [DC1] to achieve the vision of high performance, innovation and organizational effectiveness.
Provides leadership and hands-on approach towards rapid improvements with a focus on execution and innovation. Works in collaboration with Site Leaders and Functional Heads to foster a culture of positivity and creativity. Works closely with Development and GMSAT functions to innovate and eliminate wasteduring the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.
Develops an effective system for root-cause analysis and prevents productivity losses. Prioritizes customer needs and executes performance-improvement projects that support organizational goals and values.
Develop Cell Therapy unique program around human & operational performanceaimed at error proofing to prevent human errors and prevent re-occurrence.
Defines key performance indicators (KPI's) for improvement opportunities and establishes measurable standards.
Fosters a high-performance mindset through propagation of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and process discipline tools. Manages or leverages certification program to support training and development of employees.
Partners and supports GPS OE Network
Leads ongoing initiatives to improve equipment effectiveness and overall production efficiency. Ensures lean equipment and process design.
Coaches, mentors and develops [DC2] the Process Improvement community to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and encourages global collaboration in a geographically and culturally diverse organization.
Knowledge Skills And Abilities
Knowledge of Kaizen methodology, cultural transformation, organizational effectiveness, lean manufacturing, project management, root cause analysis, Six Sigma, financial acumen, change management, budgeting, people management and development, cultural awareness, and capital approval process.
Strong operations background in a regulated industry.
Strong written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, and persuasive skills.
Leads with a global mind-set to direct and influence multiple remote teams.
Business Acumen: Has a strong understanding of the key business drivers of the industry/organization. Persuades others with fact-based judgments of the business situation.

Skills/Knowledge Required:
Strong commercial bio/pharma manufacturing experience, and excellent people leadership expertise (Leadership & Coaching). Experience in Cell/Gene Therapy manufacturing is a plus.
B.S. degree in Business, Science or Engineering, advanced degree desired (MBA, MS or PhD) with at least 15 years of relevant leadership experience in manufacturing, Quality including plant operations
Exposure across multiple Technical Operations functions. Experience operating a multi-product manufacturing plant, with strong knowledge and experience with Health Authority inspections and interactions
Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative, and the ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
Financial management exposure, awareness, and strong acumen Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with an advanced engineering degree preferred.Black Belt in Lean/Six Sigma desired.Minimum of 15 years of process innovation, lean manufacturing in related industry.Minimum of 15 years of operations management experience.Proven success in implementing and leading continuous improvement programs required.Around the world, we are passionate about making an impact on the lives of patients with serious diseases.
