This position will be responsible for providing Project Management expertise and support to the GRAIL Technical Operations group (TechOps) within the operations function. Will be comfortable working on agile and traditional projects to coordinate investigations and ensure project achievements and deliverables are met, and that activities are well completed and managed. Responsibilities include the day-to-day planning, coordinating, and tracking of critical activities including management of cross-functional investigations collaborating with groups within operations and R&D. The successful candidate will work with stakeholders within and outside technical operations to track actions, optimize team effectiveness, decision making, communication, and apply robust negotiating skills to facilitate coordinated decision making.
You will:

  • Build and drive timelines to keep operations project(s) on schedule 
  • Establish and maintain functionally integrated project timeline
  • Use tracking tools to enable project management across areas.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and drive project team meeting(s): prepare and distribute agendas/minutes; supervise action items, and raise areas of risk to the appropriate management entity.
  • Facilitate communication of activities and outcomes to the project collaborators.
  • Handle the interfaces between functional areas, ensure effective handoff and develop communication between department functions
  • Project lead investigations and drive related initiatives forward.
  • Works with investigation coordinators, project leaders, and/or SME’s to prepare status reports, specific project updates, or implementation of outcomes
  • Engage with quality and regulatory functions to ensure operational planning and execution meets required standards
  • Collaborate with Leadership/teams to communicate progress on technical operations goals, resourcing, and develop budget assumptions for the annual operating plan. 

Your background should include:
  • A BA/BS in a scientific field is required. An advanced degree (PhD, MS, MBA, MD) is desirable in a field related to assay development or business.
  • PMP Preferred
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 4-6 years of multidisciplinary experience in the device/diagnostic/biotech/pharmaceutical industry, with 1-3 years of direct project management in one or more laboratory operations related functions e.g. technical operations, supply chain, MSAT, engineering
  • Outstanding communication skills are highly desirable in this role
  • Experience working under design control
  • Familiarity with handling agile projects
