Mansfield Center
invites applications for an
Operations Manager
to oversee administrative and financial duties in support of the Center’s mission to foster globally minded leaders of integrity. The position requires effective communication and detail-oriented logistics management. This is a fast-paced position that utilizes critical thinking skills to support global engagement and democracy programming.
The Operations Manager is responsible for high-quality internal and external communications in support of general office, human resource, and budget management. This includes: management of the general Center email box; oral and written correspondence; managing departmental meeting schedules; organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files; maintaining personnel documentation; managing supplies and equipment; serving as liaison between UM IT and telecommunications services; greeting visitors; coordinating with Mansfield Library colleagues regarding building operations; and researching, reconciling, organizing, and analyzing financial transactions.
This position primarily supports the Center Fiscal and Personnel Manager with such tasks as: managing transactions for Center budgets; managing data for financial and payroll processes; assisting with reconciliation of accounts; processing accounts payable and receivable paperwork; and tracking financial reports.
This position will serve as the department procard (credit card) manager and will be responsible for communicating with procard holders to ensure that transactions are well managed. This position is also responsible for assisting with UM procedures for purchasing and contracts.
The position will also assist the Grants Budget Manager in expenditure management, including file organization and extracting and reformatting financial data.
As time and interest by the successful candidate allows, the position may also have direct engagement with international visitor programming and outreach activities.
The incumbent does not require prior knowledge of UM systems but will receive training to develop a working knowledge of Mansfield Center and UM policies, procedures, and resources; applicable federal and state regulations; and UM platforms such as CCMS, Banner, UMDW, GTO, and InfoGriz.

Skilled in the use of personal computers, including Excel, Word, and Zoom. Demonstrated capacity to learn additional electronic resources such as Qualtrics, Trello, Canva, and Banner.
Ability to gather and process financial and programmatic information.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships and coordinate with a variety of UM offices.
Minimum Required Experience
High School diploma and two (2) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree and two years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with data-entry and office procedures.
