The primary responsibility of this position is to facilitate the cross-border movement of goods in an efficient, secure supply chain environment. Focusing on a quick and effective customs entry process, nullifying unnecessary delays and potential storage charges, all while preserving **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s (MDLZ) reputation as a compliant importer with government agencies, our colleagues, and our customers.
How you will contribute
You will:
Support the MDLZ customs compliance program to ensure it meets the requirements defined by the US and Canadian governments. Work to integrate MDLZ Corporate Compliance Policy (Customs & Trade Laws) and Finance Policy (Intercompany Transfer Pricing) requirements into MDLZ business.
Support the U.S. Customs Compliance Lead and Senior Customs Analyst-Canada to achieve expeditious and compliant “one-off” import shipments. Determine Harmonized Tariff Schedule HTS) classification and ensure that those import shipments comply with applicable government regulations and are handled expeditiously.
Determine the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility of select export products, and prepare and sign certificates of origin for products under USMCA, CUSMA, CAFTA, Korea, Colombia, etc. Maintain product and certificate database for future requests and coordinate with the MDLZ Global Export Team.
Oversee the FDA status verification process of all shipments that are imported and delivered direct to customers. Take action with Customer Service team and transportation providers on any shipment not immediately released by FDA upon arrival into the U.S.
Maintain a working knowledge of U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and any partner government agency (FDA, USDA, Census, CFIA etc) regulations relevant to importing into the U.S. and Canada.
Lead efforts to perform weekly audit of customs entries, and ensure corrective action takes place with MDLZ approved customs broker.
Facilitate the payment of customs broker invoices, goods receipt and allocation of all charges to the internal entity responsible for budget purposes.
Maintain the MDLZ official import matrix, containing all required data for customs and partner government agency clearance into the U.S. and Canada.
Maintain a parts database of all production equipment and machine parts imported into the U.S. and Canada.
Acquire knowledge of MDLZ supply chain as a whole over time, to further develop skills and prepare for advancement to the next step in one’s MDLZ career.

Practical knowledge of customs processes and documentation
Ability to interpret data
Communication skills written and oral
SAP experience - Microsoft Office (Excel skill: pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Sumif and etc. & PPT skill)
Ability to navigate and work cross-functionally in a global, matrixed organization
