Position
Purpose:

The
Industrial Engineer will be for our
Distribution Center in Cranbury, NJ, and will be responsible
for administering the Labor Management and Pay for Performance program,
including engineered labor standards, within the assigned region of the DC
supply chain network. This position will provide engineering services to the DC
network, to include project management, continuous process improvement, and
identification of operational cost reductions to optimize the DCs utilization,
productivity and efficiency.

 

 

Essential
Job Functions:

The
incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and
responsibilities with or without a reasonable
accommodation.


Effective
verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with
emphasis on company interests.
Independently
prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes and
effectively accomplish assigned duties through work of subordinates and/or
peers.
Demonstrate
knowledge of Labor Management and Incentive Programs, including engineered
labor standards and Labor Management systems.
Quantify the
value of continuous improvement opportunities related to process design,
flow of materials, facility layout and resource utilization.
Collaborate
with DC leadership to define, prioritize and execute continuous
improvement projects.
Provide
recommendations for staffing and business forecasts.
Display a
working knowledge of multi-channel Distribution Center operations (Retail
and eCommerce fulfillment).
Drive
sustainable results via increased floor presence in the Distribution
Center and routinely interacting with hourly front-line partners and
department supervisors

Responsibility:

No
direct reports.

 

Work
Environment:

While
some job duties are performed while seated indoors, some time is spent in a
warehouse environment where exposure to heat, cold, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or
noise should not be overlooked.  A risk of injury may result from
following improper safety procedures.

Education
and Experience:

Bachelor's
degree in Industrial Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university.Minimum
2 years professional experience in industrial engineering, preferably in a
retail distribution center environment. An equivalent combination of education
and related experience may be substituted.Experience
with online eCommerce retail logistics is preferred.Demonstrated
ability to perform time motion study of multi-variable processes and/or working
in an environment with established labor standards is required.Experience
with the development and maintenance of labor management and performance
incentive programs is required.Experience
with Warehouse Management and Labor Management systems (Manhattan Systems WM
and LM for open systems preferred).Demonstrated
ability to work in a team setting and influence decision-making processes without
direct authority.Excellent
interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.Prior
experience creating and modifying macros in Visual Basic is highly preferred.Expert
ability with MS Office (MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio) is
highly preferred.
