BMS Global Logistics Management are seeking to recruit a permanent Senior Director of Global Initiatives. The role is responsible for developing, planning and supervising Logistics strategic improvement initiatives in Market Supply Operations (MSO) aimed to increase efficiency and deploy best practices on global and local level; manages interactions with cross-functional stakeholders; manages budgets and timelines of improvement projects
Position Overview:
Develop the right functional organization structure and staffing plan to meet the functional needs. Ensure the right person (talent) is doing the right work (key objectives) at the right time (priorities). Develop and deploy functional sustainability and succession planning capabilities
Establish and manage Global Logistics Initiatives Management and deploy best practices for project management. Process should incorporate appropriate cadence and governance as well as minimize workload requirements.
Project management:
Run end-to-end project management for large initiatives like network model changes, implementation of new 3PL, compliance etc.
Plan and manage project budgets and resources, supervise timing adherence, liaise with cross-functional teams involved
Plan and lead change management process, supporting MSO leaders in implementing sustainable change
Build a strong network within and beyond MSO/GSC for ensure efficient teamwork on project implementation
Ensure collaboration with the MSO Strategy Lead and tie into the wider MSO Roadmap
Ensure alignment with Global Process Excellence for all key processes so we can leverage and align to their governance structures and guidelines as well as leverage any best practices or system tools already in place.
Coach and develop a team of project managers
Continuous improvement:
Lead continuous improvement by identifying and operationalizing improvement opportunities
Actively seek internal and external best practices, industry trends, relevant innovations
Ensure knowledge capture and sharing within and beyond MSO
SOP:
Develop, update and implement relevant SOP and other guidelines, ensure compliance
Support regional/global teams in implementing and/or adjusting SOP
Support development of training activities related to new SOP or guidelines
Experience Desired:
Degree in Engineering or Business, preferably with focus on Operations / Supply Chain
10 years of experience in Supply Chain or Logistics Management in the biotech/pharma industry, or comparable
3 years in managerial positions with exposure to project management, cross-functional taskforces, planning and execution of strategic initiatives
Excellent knowledge of supply chain and logistics best practices, broad business acumen, strong problem-solving skills
Excellent understanding and experience of project management capabilities.
Experience in developing and implementing world class, global logistics processes and managing them through deployment and into a sustained operation model.
Experience in team leadership, cross-functional stakeholder management
The candidate must have experience working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs, as well as problem solving and administrative ability.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and proven ability to multitask.
