****Job Description Supervise material handlers performing loading/unloading of trucks, bulking materials, etc. Receive paperwork for manifested waste in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. Supervise the sampling, by ensuring proper PPE, labeling and tracking.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Supervise the daily activities of material handlers in the Container Management Department, to include loading/unloading of trucks, bulking various materials, container movements,
housekeeping, etc.
 Ensures area work assignments in the operation units are carried out as assigned.
 Ensures production goals and objectives are met. This includes monitoring area specific production goals and clearly communicating these goals to area operators.
 Ensures all required notifications to site management are made in a timely manner.
 Represents facility management during off-shift (non-business hours) in leading plant activities (operation areas and receiving), 3rd party inspections, and governmental agency notifications and
inspections.
 Ensures required incident investigations are carried out and that all Corrective Action and Preventative Action items are followed up on. Submits reports with findings and recommendations to the Production Manager.
 Responsible for ensuring EH&S policies and requirements are communicated and practiced on the shift team.
 Ensures detailed operating procedures are written, reviewed, and updated as required.
 Conducts employee performance evaluations.
 Ensures plant utilities, unit supplies, required tools and safety equipment, etc., is maintained.
 Ensures monthly safety meetings for all shift personnel are completed as required by PSM.
 Provides assistance to area operators in troubleshooting problems in and around their respective areas. This may include bringing in other resources for technical support or providing leadership
on who to call or contact.
 Responsible for accurate reporting and data collection of shift production team time records.
 Ensures employee training requirements are met through effective management of the departments SDP/Training and Development System.
 Ensures other requirements are completed in a timely manner as assigned by the Production Manager.
Qualifications Education / Experience / Background
● High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
● Bachelor’s Degree preferred
● Manager or Supervisory experience preferred
● Chemistry background preferred
● 5 years hazardous waste material handling experience preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
● Ability to create & prepare reports as necessary
● Strong team player
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
● Computer proficient in Word and Excel
Required Certification / Licenses / Training
● DOT Training
