This individual will have primary accountability for implementing a strategic and centralized global procurement function across all departments and geographies. Procurement primarily consists of the acquisition of materials, capital equipment, professional / contract services and SaaS solutions. 
You will:

• Build a best in class global strategic purchasing function that will scale effectively as GRAIL grows.
• Implement GRAIL purchasing process and governance policies.
• Collaborate closely with demand planning and inventory management staff to ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials for our Clinical Sciences, R&D and Production lab teams.
• Manage existing supplier relationships including negotiation of pricing, terms and conditions.
• Design and own external contractor / temporary labor workforce onboarding and exit process.
• Provide strategic purchase recommendations in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvements throughout the function to increase efficiencies and reduce overall costs for the business.
• Support GRAIL Finance in closing and analyzing the monthly financial statements.
• Hiring, developing, mentoring and motivating members of the Procurement team.

Your Background Should Include:

• At least 10 years of experience working in or leading a Procurement function in a Life Sciences, Biotech, or Diagnostic company.
• A Bachelors degree or higher.
• Experience building or managing international procurement functions.
• Experience in developing professional individuals as well as building and motivating a team, with five years of managerial experience.
