Job Description:
The position exists to strategically and operationally lead the supply chain activities for a Base Chemical or Intermediates product portfolio, thereby effectively aligning the commercial demand aspects with the production aspects of the business. This position is part of the Chemicals Supply Chain organization in the Americas and reports directly to the General Manager of Operations. The incumbent is expected to work effectively with all other Supply Managers, the Regional Integration Team, the commercial organization and manufacturing stakeholders. This role serves as a model leader within the Chemicals community, in particular in the area of HSSE and people development, thereby actively helping to further develop capabilities and staff motivation of the wider organization.
The Role
The Supply Manager is accountable for the planning, optimization, operation and performance delivery of the regional supply chain activities for the corresponding products. This role will need to work effectively with stakeholders involved in these activities, such as commercial, manufacturing, HSSE, logistics, 3rd party product suppliers, co-producers and service providers for delivery. Execution of the supply chain involves sourcing, planning and optimizing of materials, planning and optimization of production, scheduling of product movements (intermediate and finished products), inventory management and product delivery to customers (incl. order processing). Commercial activities are included when necessary to optimize the supply chain (accountability for direct sales to customers resides with the commercial team). The Supply Manager is also accountable to work with commercial to define the optimal set of service offerings for our customers in the context of the Chemicals Customer Value Capture (CVC) principles.
Key accountabilities of the role include:
Define the long-term supply chain strategy for the products, in support of the commercial product line strategy
Lead the S&OP process for the products, thereby optimizing the short to medium term planning and execution of the business
Identify and implement supply chain tactics and plans to outperform the targets as defined in the business plan
Act as the operations liaison for the commercial team in the context of developing and defining supply chain and logistics solution/options to support customer value propositions (CVC)
Understand and evaluate the HSSE risks involved in the execution of the supply chains and implement action plans to mitigate.
Ensure proper and compliant execution of the OtC (Order to Cash) and MSC (Manage Supply Chain) processes within the team
Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) of the business through performance assessment and identification, initiation and delivery of CI activities, incl. removal of constraints hindering further business optimization
As contract owner of supply driven contracts, oversee the execution of tolls, sales & purchases and swap/exchange agreements by the team and ensure proper performance management of these contracts
Oversee product quality aspects of the business, including management of off-spec material and driving optimization of product specifications to improve the business
Lead their direct team and actively coach/support the team members to build a highly motivated, capable, team.
Oversee Staff of 1-5 direct reports
Oversee 720KT/year of sales to third parties at a value of $700MM/year revenue for all product lines

Requirements:
This is a critical position in the Chemicals supply organization that requires the incumbent to work effectively across multiple organizational boundaries within & outside Chemicals Business unit (e.g. Chemicals Commercial, Chemicals Supply, Manufacturing, Trading & Supply, E&S, P&T).
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
At least ten (10) years operational supply chain experience (Chemicals or other Downstream or relevant business) is required, given complexity and business criticality of the role.
Proven experience in hydrocarbon management and value chain optimization
Commercial or Manufacturing experience is a plus.
Proven leadership experience as a team leader.
Degree in a technical, supply or business area required - MBA a Plus
