The Materials Management & Physical Operations department at Hoxworth Blood Center is seeking to fill multiple Materials Management Coordinator positions to assist with the growing needs of the blood center. This is a continuous posting to create a pool of applicants from which we hire as needed. The desired candidate will have prior experience in materials management and inventory control, etc. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
There are several shift positions available. The position requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds and ability to push and pull heavy equipment. On-call rotation for weekends and holidays is required.
Position Responsibilities (Other duties will be assigned):
*Assist Director with the operational activities of the department *Approve, schedule, receive and distribute incoming equipment in compliance with department and university regulations *Utilize vehicles, forklifts or other handling equipment to move material and supplies to and from trucks and/ or other facilities. *Serve as liaison between Hoxworth departments, hospital and university departments. *Assist with the development and implementation of new policies, procedures and systems *Coordinate service functions (supplies, deliveries, equipment, purchase orders, etc.) *Coordinate special projects *Report repair and maintenance needs; coordinate projects *Obtain cost estimates and coordinate activities related to building renovations or space allocations. Inspect completed work *Maintain inventory records, files, etc.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree with one (1) year of experience; OR Associate degree with three (3) years of experience; OR five (5) years of experience.
