The Manager of Risk Management within GPS will focus on development and enablement of end-to-end risk governance that achieves simple and compliant processes (e.g. contracting, supplier onboarding, order execution) with the appropriate controls in place. This includes the creation and refinement of Business Continuity Plans for key process areas that adhere to the broader risk management tenets of BMS and comply with local/regional regulations. Additionally, the Risk Management Manager will set and monitor targets and performance metrics against those targets.
The manager will work in a team within GPS but will also work with cross-organizational counterparts to effectively profile and assess supplier risk within their GPS purview. This includes interfacing with Supplier and Risk Management employees from the Global Product Supply Organization and internal Procurement teams (e.g. Sourcing Excellence (SE) and Strategy, Process, and Capabilities (SP&C)) to ensure harmonization and alignment in approach and execution of the companies’ broader risk management strategy.
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Develop and execute category risk, mitigation, and improvement strategies for select GPS categories
Set targets to actively deliver against CSR Objectives
Establish Business Continuity Plans for key process areas
Modify Global Strategies based on regional & local regulations
Improve supplier selection and onboarding processes
Generate and compare inherent risk scores for suppliers
Incorporate risk scoring and feedback mechanisms to improve decision making processes
Establish simple and effective control and monitoring mechanisms
Develop real-time monitoring mechanisms for suppliers (incl. alerts in case of a risk event)
Leverage automated processes and tools that screen suppliers
Facilitate continuous improvement
Apply end-to-end operational excellence analysis to reduce lead time and cycle time, implementing subsequent initiatives without sacrificing quality
Effectively interact with employees, vendors, contractors and senior management
Includes close coordination with GPS, SE, and SP&C risk management teams to execute the corporate risk management strategy in a coordinated manner
Work closely with Category Managers to incorporate risk management into category strategy development and execution
Minimum Requirements:
B.S./B.A.
Minimum of 6-8 years of business experience
Minimum of 5-6 years of multi-disciplined procurement experience, or related category domain experience or relevant experience
Minimum of 1 year Pharmaceutical Procurement experience, or working directly with Pharmaceutical Procurement teams or relevant experience
Experience leading and participating on cross-functional and/or global teams
Managerial experience including managing teams of senior professionals and establishing performance expectations
Internal stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skills
Procurement process knowledge, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, supplier management, technology utilization, strategic planning and integrated supply chain experience
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S./M.B.A.
Professional certifications (e.g. CPM, CPIM).
3 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experience
Membership in Professional Associations, e.g. ISM
Six Sigma Certification
