Job Summary

The Sr. Data Scientist in Supply Chain Optimization is a key role within Comcast's Integrated Supply Chain Organization (ISCO). The role will provide strategic support to the Comcast supply chain network in areas of network, transportation and inventory optimization.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive supply chain solutions and serve as a SME in the following areas:

Network optimization/transportation:

Major participant in driving the supply chain transformation initiative at Comcast.

Develop scenarios and strategies for various configuration.

Modeling in Llamasoft and other tools.

Perform transportation routing and optimization studies

Planning and Inventory:

Evaluate and propose new replenishment strategies.

Improve existing demand forecasting model by developing new methodologies (ML, Markov chains, etc.).

Develop methods to systematically identify outliers to improve forecast accuracy.

General:

Build decision support models based on advanced analytics to drive visibility and continuous improvement.

Creating models, tools and processes that will be used by analysts and operations.

Support division / regions with data requests and develop reports / dashboards to support supply chain decision making.

Experience preparing and presenting oral and written presentations to management and clients.

Required Qualifications:

Masters or PhD in statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, data science or similar.

5 years of experience in operation research and modeling using advanced tools (i.e. Llamasoft, Pulp/Pyomo, Solver).

Prior experience with visualization tools (Tableau or PowerBI).

Additional (Preferred) Qualifications:

Prior experience using project management tools to drive projects to completion.

Prior experience utilizing code (Python, R, SQL etc.) for analyzing data and build statistical models/algorithms.

Knowledge of simulation a plus (Arena, AnyLogic).
