Please apply if you are interested in a position and we will be reaching out to all qualified applicants by Feb 21st 2022!\u00A0The Shop Lead is responsible for quality, efficiency, and accuracy of order flow and customer experience for the bike business.\u00A0 This person is directly responsible for the day-to-day operations and efficiency of the Bike and Ski shop within the retail store. This will include management and delegation of duties to direct reports.\u00A0 The Shop Manager will work hand in hand with the General Manager of the retail store.\u00A0ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively manage and communicate department level expectations to a team of 2-3 direct reports Responsible for the growth and development of direct reports including goal setting, conducting 1:1\u2019s, and conducting quarterly and/or bi-annual reviews\u00A0 Establish and maintain a work order scheduling system to ensure all work orders are completed on time and to a high degree of quality Maintain shop supply inventory to ensure service can be accomplished Perform service on bicycles and skis/snowboards at a highly proficient level Be able to deal with high level customer engagement, and able to handle escalated customer issues. Establish a community engagement program that includes training classes, shop rides, etc.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Prior experience as a Bike Tech with full knowledge of the mechanical workings, and compatibility of bicycles and skis Prior experience in a Management level position Complete and full understanding of current road, mountain, gravel, and cyclocross frames, wheels, and all componentry regarding knowledge of product and compatibility with the ability to maintain this knowledge as new products are introduced Complete and full understanding of Ski and Snowboard mounting and tuning. Ability to mechanically problem solve issues that arise in the process of building bicycles Experience with Microsoft Office applicationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS, VISUAL ACUITY & WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Physical Activity:Regularly requires balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, picking, typing, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.Frequently requires grasping and feeling.Occasionally requires climbing of stairs, pushing, pulling and liftingOccasionally requires kneeling and crouching. Physical Requirements:Medium work: Exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally and or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects. Visual Acuity:Requires close visual acuity to visually inspect small defects and small parts for assembly at distances close to the eyes. Work Conditions:Subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals.Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, mists, odors, and dust.About BackcountrySeek it.
