Hub Logistics Specialist
Houston - United States
The Hub Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments from supplier and to field destinations, providing solutions that fit the destination's requirements, and controlling costs while ensuring that all shipments are exported in compliance with Hub customs requirements as well as destination requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage inbound Logistics operations to ensure shipments are being collected and delivered to DSC timely, efficiently and accurately delivery of shipments.
Detect any discrepancies OSD and communicate with internal and external suppliers to provide a timely resolution.
Manage exceptional processes and ensure compliance is followed for inbound and outbound shipments.
Track cargo for inbound and outbound movements to ensure shipments are delivered within the KPI.
Report and investigate process deviations to ensure continuous improvement on service quality.
Pull and analyze data to monitor the performance and KPI of the warehouse provider.
Provide operational support to warehouse management activities along with logistics management.
Assess 3PL performance with respect to on-time delivery and on-time pickup and on-time warehouse processing.
Search opportunities for continuous improvement in transportation and warehouse processes.
Ensure internal alignment and common objectives to support internal customers.
Comply with and uphold company policies including but not limited to finance, personnel, trade customs compliance and QHSE.
Monitor logistics provider’s delivery of service daily and report service quality deviations.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
5 years of professional experience in warehouse distribution and logistics.
Ability to think strategically, analyze large amount of data and information objectively, and make quick decisions.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Power Point.
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and collaborative skills.
Understanding of general logistics processes and warehouse processes along with inbound and international logistics rules and regulations.
Proficiency / working knowledge of SAP preferred, but not required.
The ability to work independently and as a team.
Work under pressure.
Ability to adapt to market and industry changes.
