Shell Midstream delivers America’s energy and has been doing so safely and reliably for over 100 years. From offshore to onshore, Shell Midstream transports 1.5 billion barrels of crude oil and refined products every year, operating safely, responsibly and taking great care in what they do.

Shell Midstream assets include:

Interests in entities that own crude oil and refined products pipelines and terminals which serve as key infrastructure to transport onshore and offshore crude oil production to Gulf Coast and Midwest refining markets, and to deliver refined products from those markets to major demand centers.

Interests in entities that own natural gas and refinery gas pipelines, which transport offshore natural gas to market hubs and deliver refinery gas from refineries and plants to chemical sites along the Gulf Coast.

This Contracting & Procurement professional will be responsible for the management and execution of the overall Category Management & Contracting Process (CMCP) for Shell Midstream Projects. This individual will work directly with multiple Project Managers to develop and execute sourcing strategies for a portfolio of Midstream Projects through conducting tenders, negotiations, and active contract management in line with the specific business demands.

What’s the role –

Value

Develop commercially competitive and optimal project procurement strategies which meet business requirements while considering implementation of Strategies at the regional/global level.

Develop a deep understanding of the categories and projects within the portfolio, to find and deliver sustainable end to end value opportunities.

Ensure that Shell has a competitive market landscape. This will require the development of existing suppliers, introducing competition when appropriate, and rationalization of existing supply base.

Execute the project procurement strategies through tendering, negotiations, and active contract management.

HSSE

Support HSSE Goal Zero aspiration through robust Contractor Safety Management practices (i.e., Construction Site Safety) and alignment to Shell’s personal and process safety focus areas

Implementation of Contractor HSSE practices in close liaison with Contract Holders and Owners

Business Interface

The position will liaise heavily with:

Internal (Shell) and External (Supplier) stakeholders in development and execution of procurement strategies driving towards value maximization. [Pre-award Phase]. This may involve constructively challenging the Business Demand and/or Procurement practices to drive value and efficiency for the organization.

Internal (Shell) & External (Suppliers) Stakeholders in ensuring delivery of maximum value via each of the awarded contracts/commercial deals. [Post-award Phase]

Process

Ensure application of the end-to-end Category Management Contracting Process, with full utilization of SAP and Ariba.

Ensuring that Contracts are effectively managed with a continuous improvement mindset that delivers performance improvements across HSSE, Operational and Cost performance outcomes.

What we need from you -

A legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, or any in relevant field with at least three plus (3 ) years’ experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Commercial roles

Experienced with ARIBA is strongly preferred.

Specific skills and experiences must include:

Highly tuned commercial acumen and curiosity with demonstrated ability to develop and deliver value from complex deals

Proven experience in contract negotiations, tender evaluation, and project management

Soft Skills

Highly driven, proactive, able to articulate in a crisp and precise manner

Good communicator (both verbally and written)

Focused on tangible value outcomes for the enterprise, translates strategy to outcomes

Collaborates and integrates within CP, business partners, and other functions

Strong and Proven Interpersonal, Influencing & Stakeholder Management Skills

Ability to work/adapt in a complex environment

Demonstrated ability to interact seamlessly and effectively with all levels of management
