Ethanex Energy appoints vice president, operations
Anthony A. Simpson is the new vice president of operations for Ethanex Energy, Inc. Heading the overall operations for Ethanex Energy's planned ethanol production facilities, Simpson will manage the company's plant organizational structuring, environmental compliance, and community relations. Prior to this appointment, Simpson was general manager of plant operations at POET Plant Management and had recently managed Poet Biorefining's 40 million gallon ethanol facility in Caro, Michigan. At the plant, he managed the initial staffing and start-up in addition to overseeing the entire operational and P&L work. Earlier, Simpson was general manager of Agra Resources Coop., a POET-managed dry mill ethanol facility in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
Precision PCB Products appoints operations manager
Precision PCB Products has announced the appointment of William Sanson as its new operations manager. Sanson, who has significant expertise in materials management, brings 17 years of operations experience to the company. He comes from the United States Navy, where he served in a number of management positions and most recently was the head of its logistics department. Sanson will work from Precision PCB's new factory location in Irvine, California. The company manufactures depanelization routers for circuit board assembly markets. It also provides sales support, spare parts, and refurbishment services through its global network of sales representatives and distributors.
Chesapeake in restructuring mode
As part of its restructuring, Chesapeake Corp. will cut an undisclosed number of jobs and realign its operations. The move, by the supplier of specialty paperboard and plastic packaging, intends to reduce costs and promote growth. The company will now have three operating units—pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging, headed by Michael Cheetham; branded products, led by Timothy D. Whitfield; and plastic-packaging businesses, managed by Vincent W. Hockett. The company has eliminated the positions of Neil Rylance, executive vice president of European packaging, and Richard A. Scully, European finance director.
