LWCC announces new claims operations manager
The Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation has named Jill Breard as its new operations manager in the risk management services (RMS) division. Breard will manage the day-to-day claims operations at LWCC. For the RMS division, she will oversee three units -claims administration, recovery, and special investigations. Breard, who has 18 years of experience in the area of workers' compensation, was director of the Second Injury Board for the Louisiana Office of Workers' Compensation before joining LWCC. Breard is a Certified Workers' Compensation Professional (CWCP) and Associate in Claims (AIC).
Starbucks Coffee names new COO
Starbucks Coffee Co. has appointed Martin Coles as its new chief operating officer. Coles will serve as a link between the chief executive officer, Jim Donald, and the regional heads. In his new role, he will manage the company's global operations, store development, global consumer products group, and supply chain operations. Coles, who is currently serving as president of Starbucks Coffee International, will start his new position on September 4. The company, which is planning to double in size over the next five years, is targeting 40,000 stores globally.
FTF LLC's new operations to create 60 new jobs in Calumet Township
A $300,000 grant to Calumet Township from the governor's office and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will eventually generate 60 new jobs. The fund will be used for electrical, sewer, water, natural gas, road access, storm drainage, and parking facilities required for FTF LLC's new manufacturing operations in an old mining site. The new facility will manufacture brake rotors for motorcycles and other vehicles. In addition to creating new jobs, the move is expected to generate further investments in the Calumet community. FTF LLC is an offshoot of the REL Machine Company of Calumet.
